Colors and Weathers
Wolves have a very thick, heavy, and warm pelt. A wolf's pelt is made to keep them warm at all cold times, to servive blizards and things like that. they are also made the same colors as their environment, Forest wolves are pretty much all colors, red, black, brown, white, grey, silver, orange-ish, etc.

Wolf Pups
If a wolf has a pup, it is very unlikely for the pup to be the same exact colors everywhere. Wolves are always differant colors than the next wolf. But the most likely colors to be the same as the parent(s) is to be pitch black. Did you know that most pitch black wolves have a large red tint in them?
Thickness
Wolves are very fluffy animals most of the time. Their pelts are made to stand any weather. In the arctic, obviously, their coats are way thicker than a forest wolf. A forest wolf in one of the warmer forests would have thinner pelts.
