Paw Sizes
Ok, your talking to your friend about wolves and how you want to draw them, your friend says, Oh they look like dogs! Oh no your friend is wrong. if your drawing wolves but can't get the paws right, that may be because they have paws WAY bigger than any old dogs. And their nails are way sharper.
Tracks
Wolf tracks can be found in almost any terrain (not in rocks..) Usually a wolf would keep it's tracks in a straight line if it's deep, usually only in snow. A wolf track is not as big as it's paw, because they have pads.

Pads
Wolves have pads to keep their paws safe, pads are an extra tough skin so they may go where they please. A wolf pad could be cut, it is possible, but if it does not get fixed it could get infected.
